Hello, my name is Mia (obviously, lol) and I am a mixed media artist. I went to art school and got my bachelors degree in Studio Arts. Then, I went to be an Elementary School Art teacher. I have always had a passion for art and I use it as therapy and to portray my emotions. I incorporate bright colors, mixed media, and clay to enhance the storytelling in my paintings. I like to bounce around a couple of different mediums such as acrylic paint, oil paint, clay, and fabrics. I feel mixed media, used a certain way, opens up the connection between the viewer and the painting by breaking the canvas structure and bringing the painting's storyline into the viewer's world. I also have a hyper-fixation on miniature foods, hence my Artsy Bakery Collection below. I like creating things that make me happy to look at and lets my emotions be seen and understood.
